Hello and Welcome

My name is Cherise, and I was born and raised in South Africa. I hold two degrees—a BA in Psychology with Law subjects and an LLB. After completing my articles, attending law school, and being successfully admitted as an Attorney in 2017, I specialized in family law. This gave me the chance to work on important family matters, many of which involved children, though not always under the best circumstances.

Shortly after my admission, I felt the need for a change and decided to follow a lifelong dream of living abroad. In April 2018, I packed my bags and set off for China, originally planning to teach English for just a year while saving up to open my own law firm. However, after just one month in the classroom, I knew that my teaching journey was only beginning.

During my time in China, I pursued my Master’s in Law, passed all the required subjects, and was working on my thesis when COVID-19 changed the course of things. While teaching, I also launched my own recruitment company, CC Recruitment, driven by my passion for teaching and the love I had developed for my students. Through this platform, I have been able to help fellow South Africans pursue teaching opportunities abroad in both China and Thailand.

I consider myself an outgoing person with an immense love for travel, discovering new cultures, and experiencing unique foods. I'm also an avid animal lover. In April 2024, I became engaged to an amazing man who has two beautiful daughters from a previous marriage, aged 6 and 9.
